Phillips Academy Field Hockey, or PAFH, is recognized as one of the top programs in NEPSAC. With an emphasis on teamwork and togetherness and a motto of “Don’t Settle”, our goal is to provide each student-athlete with a positive team experience. The varsity team has appeared in the Class A tournament every year since 2004. PAFH has advanced to the Class A championship game seven of the last nine years and won five of Class A titles during that span - in 2024, 2021, 2018, 2016 and 2015. The team completed undefeated seasons in 2024 (a program best record of 19-0), in 2021 (18-0-1), and in 2018 (17-0).
Andover’s field hockey program consists of two teams: varsity and junior varsity. The most athletic and skilled players compete at the varsity level, but players of all abilities can find a spot within the program. Players come from all over New England, the country, and the world to play for the Big Blue. Both teams play a competitive game schedule, and each team has at least two coaches. Players will receive a high level of coaching and instruction. Andover field hockey program aims to provide a rewarding and enjoyable athletic experience for all of its participants.
Additionally, the field hockey program has proven to be a successful step for those interested in pursuing the sport at the collegiate level. Andover alumnae have played at such colleges as Boston University, Brown, Columbia, Lafayette, Stanford, University of Pennsylvania, Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, Middlebury, Wesleyan, and Williams. Further, several players have even gone on to captain their collegiate teams. If you are interested in a challenging yet rewarding field hockey experience then please contact head coach Kate Dolan or complete our prospective student-athlete form.
