The 70,000-square-foot structure houses a swimming and diving complex, dance studios, wrestling facilities, and the Athletics Hall of Honor. Situated near the Snyder Center, the new building is the latest step forward for the Campus Master Plan and corresponding Athletic Facilities Master Plan, which seeks to ensure Andover students have top-tier facilities for both interscholastic competition and general health and wellness.

Features

  • The new pool at the Pan Athletic Center offers PA aquatics unique flexibility, functioning as the only full-size water polo course among New England high schools and offering our swimming teams thirteen practice lanes, more than twice the number in the old pool. For swimming competitions, the pool will be configured to create optimal racing conditions. And we will be able to offer all this programming while simultaneously running our diving and instructional swimming programs.
  • Expansive dance facilities include a performance space, practice studio, make-up and costume rooms, and a green room.
  • Dedicated Wrestling facilities include an all-gender space including a coach’s office; a warm-up, weigh-in, and training area; and a competition space with spectator seating.

The Pan Athletic Center is made possible thanks to leadership gifts to the Knowledge & Goodness campaign from Andover parents Zhang Xin and Pan Shiyi, P’17, ’19, and two anonymous donors. Their collective $25 million investment in the student experience launched the next phase of Andover’s Athletic Facilities Master Plan—and will have a profound impact on the Academy’s commitment to athletics and health and wellness.
