Kate Dolan
Head Coach
After beginning her coaching career as a Teaching Fellow, Andover Field Hockey Head Coach Kate Dolan developed her coaching background through coaching at Dartmouth College for a year before returning to Andover in 1990. Dolan has coached Varsity and JV Field Hockey, Girls Varsity and JV Ice Hockey, and Varsity Boys and Girls Lacrosse during her 30 years at Andover.
As a former collegiate field hockey and lacrosse player, Coach Dolan accredits her coaching abilities today to the experiences she had with her own coaches in college. While at the University of New Hampshire, her field hockey team made it to the NCAA playoffs every year and her lacrosse team also achieved success, winning the NCAA Division I Women’s Championship.
Martha Fenton ’83
Assistant Coach
After graduating from Andover, Coach Fenton played collegiate level hockey for four years at Bowdoin College. Once graduated from Bowdoin, Fenton took a year abroad before becoming the assistant coach at Phillips Exeter Academy. Following her three years in New Hampshire, Fenton returned to the Andover coaching staff as an Andover Girls Hockey assistant coach. Fenton took over as head coach after two years and has maintained her position for the last 25 years.
Coach Fenton’s coaching philosophies are based around her dedication to building a strong team dynamic. She believes that even the strongest group of individual players may not necessarily make the best team if they do not play cohesively and communicate.
In addition to being the Girls’ Varsity Ice Hockey coach, she is an assistant coach with Girls’ Varsity Field Hockey and Boys' Varsity Lacrosse, and serves as Cluster Dean of West Quad North.
Taylor Ware
Assistant Coach
Coach Ware joined the Phillips Academy lacrosse program when she began her tenure at Andover in 2015. Prior to that, she was an assistant varsity lacrosse coach at Brooks School and has made time to coach her daughter’s teams through the Andover Youth Services programs since 2013 as well. A collegiate athlete in both field hockey and lacrosse, Coach Ware was a member of Dartmouth College’s 1995 Ivy League Championship lacrosse team, which also made a Final Four appearance that same season. On campus, Coach Ware is an Associate Director of College Counseling and the 12th-grade course head for our Empathy, Balance, and Inclusion program where she utilizes her background as a clinical social worker as well.
Jen Weissbach
Assistant Coach
Beginning this fall, Coach Weissbach will be joining the Andover community in her new role, Dean of West Quad South Cluster. Coach Weissbach arrives to our community from The Hill School (Pottstown, PA) where she served as the Director of Residential Life as well as an Instructor in Science.
While at The Hill School, Coach Weissbach spent seven years as the head coach of the girls’ varsity basketball program following her own impressive career as a high school student-athlete (1,000 point scorer) and then, collegiate standout in field hockey.
At Dartmouth College, Coach Weissbach was a four-year member of the field hockey team, captaining the team her senior year. She also competed for Dartmouth’s travel basketball team. In addition to coaching basketball at The Hill School, Coach Weissbach guided Hill’s field hockey program to a #2 national ranking and a #1 Pennsylvania ranking during her coaching tenure. She was named PA Prep Live Field Hockey Coach of the year in 2022 and 2019.
