Head Coach
Thank you for your interest in our golf team at Andover. Our all-gender program is comprised of both varsity and junior varsity squads that practice together during the spring trimester; handicaps typically range from scratch to the high single-digits on our varsity lineup. We are committed to ensuring that all golfers are able to find success within our program and focus our instruction not only on swing fundamentals and course management but also on the citizenship and etiquette that students will need to navigate a life-long golfing career beyond Andover. Ultimately, we seek athletes who are dedicated to golf, academics, and our community.
Andover golf boasts one of the strongest traditions in New England. Our schedule features a yearly competition with Exeter (established before the First World War) and other match and medal play events against the best in prep-school golf. The highlight of the spring schedule is undoubtedly the Andover Invitational, an eight-team medal play tournament hosted at the historic Newport Country Club. Golfers are also fortunate to play some of the top-rated courses in the area, with the Kittansett Club, Crumpin-Fox, and Belmont Country Club being in the yearly rotation.
Our athletes are also fortunate to have access to some of the best training facilities in the area. Golfers travel each day to Indian Ridge Country Club, a private club only five minutes from campus that provides both a stern test and a grass-range for additional practice. More importantly, the Academy recently purchased two state-of-the-art TrackMan simulators that are located in our athletic facility and available to all members of the team. Our athletes use the simulators most during the winter months to prepare for the spring and summer tournament seasons.
We are especially proud of the successes that Andover golfers have had after leaving our program. Recent graduates have earned spots at all levels of college golf -- Stanford, Yale, Williams, and Princeton are just a few examples of universities students have attended. Our golfers have also competed on both the PGA and LPGA Tours and even scored victories at all levels of amateur and professional golf, including on the Korn Ferry Tour and at the Massachusetts Open.
Prospective athletes should contact our head coach, Brian Faulk at [email protected]. If possible, candidates should include a brief statement of interest and a golf resume that includes handicap information and all recent tournament scores. We look forward to seeing you on the course!
