Big Blue Shout Outs

CONGRATS to our wrestling program - coached by Kassie Bateman, Rich Gorham, Jason York, and ChipDunn and captained by Julian Rios, Dani Nugent, Bodhi Bourkhem, and Eva Murphy who all departed campus at 6 a.m. for a 12-hour day at Northfield Mount Herman to compete in the Class A championships - bringing home an impressive 2nd place finish for our girls’ wrestling program and a 3rd place finish for the Andover team.

Just a few of the many highlights on the day:

Co-captain Julian Rios ’26 led the way with two pins en route to victory at 113 lbs. Julian is now a 3x Class A Champion and qualifies for the New England Championships next weekend. Also qualifying for New Englands: Bodhi Bourkehm, Dani Nugent, Sebastien Haferd, James Bae, and ninth graders Brady Haskell and Serra Akyali. In the Girls' Division, Tasha Bohorad ’26 led the way with two pins and a technical fall to become champion and Toni Elliott ’27 had three quick pins to become champion.

Boys’ JV basketball - coached by Tom Kane and Andy Finch - extended their win streak to five games with another impressive result 75-70 over Lawrence Boys’ & Girls’ Club on Wednesday. The team’s record stands at 8-3.

Girls’ Varsity Basketball - coached by Jen Weissbach, Molly Creamer, and Chris Jones - and captained by Ava Davey, Soph Dandawa, and Emerson Buckley had a thrilling 39-37 OT win on the road versus Middlesex. With less than 10 seconds left in regulation, Alani Rodriguez ‘27 hit two free throws to tie the game and send it to overtime. Alani then hit the game-winning lay-up to secure the dub!

On Wednesday afternoon, PATF traveled to Phillips Exeter for the annual 9th/10th grade showcase.

Here are just a few of the highlights:
Andover’s Girls 4×200-Meter relay team, composed of Jenna Robertson-Palmer ’27, Caitlin Ly ’27, Julie Chan ’27, and Ela Budzinski ‘28, finished their race in 1:47.94, just under the 1:48.00 qualifying mark for New Balance Nationals. Ela also broke a junior class record in the 300 as well as a meet record. Tayla Stempson ‘27 broke 6-minutes in the mile and Charlie Gillick ‘27 placed first in the boys’ mile. Ethan Brown ‘27 ran an exciting leg of the mixed 4X400. Other 1st place finishers on the day: Caitlin Ly ‘27 (55m), lowers Tyler Baty, Ethan Ly, Ethan Brown, Brady Nelson (4x200)

With HS Nationals on the horizon, Boys’ Squash coached by John Roberts and captained by senior Avery Lin and Will Weissman secured an 8-0 WIN over Phillips Exeter at home!
