The entire Andover Athletic department stands with and by our student-athletes, teams and coaches in moving toward an athletic program free of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism, and bias of any kind. We recognize and apologize for harm that has been experienced and validate the voices of those who have shared those experiences. The work ahead is multi-tiered and involves but is not limited to creating affinity spaces for our students to share their stories, ongoing DEI training for our coaches, outside speakers and programs which engage our teams in growing their own self-awareness, and partnerships with the Shuman Admission Office. The work we are engaging must and will align with the many initiatives being discussed and initiated across Phillips Academy.
