Two strong teams battled a new rhythm playing on a Sunday. Some very clearly instinctual superb plays, and then there were some scratch-your-head misses in offfense as well as defense. Kudos to Deerfield for staying in the match; Andover prevailed today.

In the first set the two team battled back and forth point for point until 10-10 when AND pulled ahead to 17-10, and DEE brought it back to 17-14. At 21-20 AND opened it up again and took the first set 25-20. The second set had AND open up a 4-0 lead and hold it until 8-3, when DAeE found their groove and went ahead 11-8 and 13-11. Andovwr fought back to gain the advantage 15-13 though Deerfield just would not fold and found holes to go ahead 20-17. And tie it at 25-22. The third set, Andover, again on the winning side, took the lead 3-0, 7-2,8-6. Tied at 9-9, Andover again shot ahead 15-10,16-13,17-16, 18-17,19-18,24-22, 25-22. The fourth set, both teams trying to shake off the Halloween cobwebs had DEE go up 2-0,3-2,6-4,8-6, 9-9. Andover manages a 11-10 lead going into second rotation, though immediately DEE takes it again at 13-12, 14-13, 15-14. Andover snags a couple of service points and leads 18-16, 21-17, 24-18, and clinches the match at 25-19. Thank you to all the fans supporting both teams. Andover (#3 at 7-2) will travel to SPS (#1 rank at 11-0) for Halloween Wednesday.
