Andover 2- Milton 3 (16-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 13-15)

Congratulations to the Mustangs for the most energetic, on-fire match ever. Their sheer desire to win pushed Milton past Andover today. Wow.

In the first set Milton had the lead the entire way, catching Andover asleep taking a 12-3 lead. Although Andover managed to find team rhythm, it was too late for the first set.

In the second set the teams battled back and forth, exchanged the lead several times. Milton took the lead 15-9, but Andover clawed its way back to a tie at 19-19.Milton-Andover 21-19, 21-23, 23-23. Andover sides out wins. Tied 1-1.

In the third set, tied at 4-4, Andover takes the lead 11-4 on Sarah Beth Sirmon’s serve. Milton ties it at 14-14. 15-14, 15-16, 17-16, 17-19, 18-19, 18-22. Milton wins 20-25.

Pushed against the wall Andover wrestles a win of the fourth set.Andover had to overcome a 3-5 deficit to 7-5. Milton took the lead at 16-12, 17-14. Again Sarah Beth Sirmon stepped to give Andover 5 service points and a 17-20 lead. Enough to force a fifth set.

The fifth set started all in favor of Milton, taking a 10-3 lead. Andover pulled within two at 12-10, 14-13, but Milton takes the match 15-13.

An incredibly spirited strong crowd for Milton. Congratulations Mustangs.

PAVB regroups to prepare for A/E at Exeter on Nov. 11 to close out the regular season, and a hope of squeezing into the quarterfinals of the tournament.
