GXC Takes Two Wins against Austin Prep and St. Paul's

GXC welcomed Austin Prep and St. Paul's to Andover on a spectacular fall day for a cross country race, and the Andover girls prevailed with two wins against strong competition.

Pacing Big Blue, Zoe von Eckartsberg ('26) raced to her first interscholastic cross country win in a huge personal best performance. Following von Eckartsberg, Chloe Song ('26) also ran to a big personal best to take third overall. Next in for GXC were Anya Budzinski ('26) and Hannah Jung ('28), who worked together well on the Great Lawn. Ela Budzinski ('28) ran to a personal best, finishing just outside the top 10. Corinne Spade ('27) and Emma Hong ('28) rounded out the top seven for GXC with personal bests of their own. Andover wins, 26-29 v. SPS; 19-40 v. AP.

On the JV side, Tasha Bohorad ('26) led the charge, running tough on the Great Lawn. Following Bohorad, Tayla Stempson ('27) had a huge day, PRing by more than two minutes, and Evelyn Marshall ('28) finished next with her own 55-second PR. Emily Ney ('27) and Ibu Hada ('25) rounded out Andover's JV top five with two PRs of their own. Overall GXC raced to 13 PRs on the day! JV wins, 24-31 v. SPS; 16-42 v. AP.

Phillips Academy cross country returns to action on Saturday, 10/26, when Exeter, Deerfield, and St. Paul's will travel to Andover for a quad meet.
