GXC Runs Strong But Falls to Exeter
GXC traveled to Exeter, New Hampshire to take on Big Red in the annual Andover-Exeter dual on an idyllic autumn New England day.
The Varsity race proved to be very competitive as both teams raced well on the woodsy Exeter home course. Leading the way for Andover, Amelia Alvazzi ('26) took the individual win in a stellar performance. Anya Budzinski ('26) and Zoe von Eckartsberg ('26) followed, taking fourth and fifth overall. Tara Menon ('26) continued her positive momentum this season, finishing inside the top ten. Ela Budzinski ('28) and Hannah Jung ('28) both ran to personal best performances in their A-E debuts, and Tasha Bohorad ('26) rounded out the GXC top seven with a strong near-season's best performance. After great performances on both sides, Exeter prevailed, 26-30.
On the JV side, Chloe Song ('26) paced Big Blue, taking second overall. Emma Hong ('28) followed, finishing inside the top ten in a personal best performance. Edy Leach ('25), Tayla Stempson ('27), and Yara Handschin ('27) did some great pack running to round out Andover's top five JV competitors. Exeter again prevailed, 19-44.
GXC competes next week in the NEPSTA Division I Cross Country Championship at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT.
