Andover 3- Hotchkiss 1 (25-13, 25-22, 20-25, 25-18)
Thank you Taft for hosting us. We played Hotchkiss first in a doubleheader.
Our first set PAVB played with the best rhythm of the season, never relinquishing the lead and expanding on it with every serve opportunity.
In the second set, we fell into a 2-7 hole early, dug ourselves out to a 10-8 lead. Tied at 11-11, 17-17, 21-21, 22-22 Andover prevailed for a 2-0 sets lead.
In the third set PAVB went ahead 5-1, and promptly gave up 8 in a row to a 5-9 deficit and would nit be able to recover the lead again. We got it to 8-10, even 14-15, and that’s as close as we got it.
The fourth set with some line-up changes, we went down 0-4, but regrouped to a 5-5, regrouped to a 7-7, went down 7-11, 10-12, 13-16, tied it 17-17 at which point Drew Nelson served us to a 23-17 lead which was enough to secure the win.
