GVS earns hard-fought 2-0 win versus Nobles
GVS extended its unbeaten streak to seven games as it brought home an exciting 2-0 victory over Class A Noble and Greenough.
A scramble in front of the net put the Big Blue on the scoreboard midway through the first half on a well played corner by senior defender Lily Keim. While both teams battled through eighty minutes of play, Andover would stretch the lead to 2-0 on a beautiful cross from Wylie Roossien to Sarah Powers on the far post for the tap-in finish.
We cannot say enough about the team play that brought home the win - with a shout out to our goalkeeper Jackie Dill who earned her second straight shutout and the back line of Keaghan Murphy, Emily Decker, Lily Keim and captain Ava Davey. Huge kudos to our captain Ava Davey who led with smart play and as importantly, a calming presence in a hotly contested game. Davey was named Player of the Game.
We are also grateful, as always, for the support of our families as well as PAFH who showed up on the soccer sidelines during the second half giving us incredible support and a fun celebration after the final whistle.
The team's record stands at 10-3-3 as we head into the final week of the regular season.
