Senior striker Lily Haik leads the way in 4-1 W

GVS travelled alongside JV2 to Brooks School on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon and evened their record (4-4-1) with a strong, 4-1 finish on the road behind Lily Haik's huge second half effort with two goals and one assist. Haik was named Player of the Game.

The first half of play saw lots of great chances created by the Big Blue with efforts paying off in the final five minutes of play when midfielder Kelly Bu '23 slipped Emily Mara '25 a beautiful pass for Mara's second goal of the season.

Brooks came out strong in the second half of play and Andover was able to stretch the lead to 2-0 when midfield Lulu Rourke '23 found striker Lily Haik who found the back of the net. Brooks sophomore Lughano Nyondo impressed throughout the game and pulled the game within one when she finished at the 65th minute.

GVS stepped up to the pressure and senior teammates, Myra Bhathena and Haik linked up for one goal and one assist each in a the final five minutes of play to keep the game out of reach.

Other highlights of the game included return to action for backs Athalia Esty and Kate McCool. They teamed up with d-fresh squad of Tori Darling, Emily Kelly, Mary Stuart Kerrigan and Myra Bhathena to keep the Brooks offense at bay. GK Sofia Traversari had two saves on the day.

Important, impressive minutes off the bench by Esme Huh '22, Eliza Dow '22, Kennedy Smith '22, and Kendall Toth '23.
