GVS outpaced by strong Worcester Academy team
The Andover girls fell short to a well-coached, talented Worcester team. Every Andover player earned minutes for the Big Blue with notable play by Player of the Game Kennedy Smith who proved to be a spark off the bench. Also earning important minutes were Eliza Dow '22, Jazzy Cormier '24, Kendall Toth '24, Tori Darling '22 and Esme Huh '22. As always, co-captains Myra Bhathena and Mary Stuart Kerrigan led with their fierce play and "whatever it takes" attitude. Goal-keeper AJ Alicea '24 played her first official minutes in net as well. Congratulations, AJ!
We are thankful to our many parents who travelled to Worcester on a Wednesday afternoon to see us play and the Bhathena family for delicious Frankie's pizza post-game! It was also great to see Sports Information Director Mr. Fricke on our sidelines snapping professional quality photos - and our always-supportive and fantastic manager Chenault Ellis '22. GVS looks forward to the return of recently sidelined teammates Athalia Esty '22 and Kelly "KBu" Bu '23 this weekend as we travel to Tabor Academy.
