Kendall Toth '23 earns first GVS goal of career to seal W for Big Blue
Freshman striker Kendall Toth earned her first start and her first goal midway through the first half to secure the win on the road for GVS. Senior Nicola Sommers played a spectacular thru ball to Toth who slotted the ball past the Middlesex keeper.
GVS defenders Mack Lucas, Emma Fogg, Athalia Esty, Rachel Chang, Karoline Conte and Madison Bourassa continued their outstanding play and denied all chances in the final third of play. Emily Hardy earned her second shutout of the year in net.
On the sidelines, former GVS captain Leah Humes '12 now finds herself pursuing an independent school career. Leah is an admission office at Middlesex School and assistant girls' soccer coach. Also supporting GVS on the sidelines was another GVS captain, Julie Wadland '06. Julie is now in admissions at Concord Academy and coaching girls' lacrosse. Both Wadland and Humes were three sport stars for the Big Blue and last spring Wadland was inducted into Andover's Athletic Hall of Honor.
A special thank you to the family of Emily Kelly for providing drinks and snacks. The girls return home on Saturday to face Class A finalist Loomis Chaffee on Graves Field.
