Andover GJV2 wins first game of season 4-0

The Andover GJV2 soccer team got off to a great start with a 4-0 win against Loomis. Sophia Cratty connected on a cross from Maggie Bernal to put Andover on the board at the 20 minute mark. Mia Kirdar added a second goal a short while later and Bernal took advantage of a turnover right before the whistle to put Andover up 3-0 at the half. In the second half, Andover spread the field out and Caleigh Fates used the space to put a long shot in and give Andover a 4-0 lead.

Goalies Michela Rowland (first half) and Maris Moody (second half) each turned back a few Loomis shots on net. The defense of Karla Aouga, Ava Chen, Minh-Khue DoBa, Elyse Goncalves, Marcela Hernandez, Willa Koziol, Tess Lagerquist, and Adele Tissier played exceptionally well in this one, covering for each other and keeping the goalies from facing serious pressure by turning back almost everything that came their way.

Also playing for Andover were Sofia Checchi, Chloe Kim, Isabell Luo, Lydia Mechegia, and Josie O'Rourke.

Andover heads to Pingree on Wednesday for their next game.
