Depth and Dominance from Andover!

The 49th season of Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving wrapped up their year in amazing fashion at the New England Prep School Swimming and Diving Championships last Wednesday at Deerfield (Diving) and this past weekend at Phillips Exeter Academy (Swimming).

The times and scores listed below show only a part of what our team accomplished this season. We finished 2nd in New England out of 12 teams. We were undefeated in the regular season and had a truly amazing season capped by a 5th place finish at Easterns and a seventh straight win over Exeter (10 of the last 11 years). This team worked incredibly hard each day – always aiming for its best during each competition along the way.

1. Greenwich Academy (421.5 ); 2. Andover (350); 3. Exeter (341.5); 4. Suffield (214); 5. Deerfield (194); 6. Choate (180).

We wish seniors Sophia Blaine, Eliza Dow, Presley Kmeta-Suarez, Grace Hwang, Sofia Smirnov, Hannah Ono, Mary Kate Turk, Ashley Vensel, and Kayla Lang the very best in college next year. We will miss their steady leadership through many ups and downs – but mostly we will miss their care of their younger swimming and diving teammates.

Next year looks amazing as the base of this team will move onward and upward – and as we will welcome new students who are admitted this week!

We will open our new pool this summer – a very exciting new chapter for Andover Swimming and Diving.

We continue our tradition of FUN#1. We are stronger together and we saw that in full view in the past few weeks. We have our parents to thank for always cheering and supplying much needed snacks and love from near and far!
