Andover Tops Governor's

Andover was able to pull through with an exciting 16-9 win against Governors Academy this Saturday. After a difficult second quarter, the score was 7-5 at the half. However, PA put in the work and opened the goal gap in the third and fourth quarters. Goalie Kennedy Everson '21 was a powerhouse today with 11 beautiful saves, and created great momentum from the back. Tory Rider '22 and Isabella Miller '21 led the teams offensive, the latter scoring seven goals. Player Grace Hammond '23 was strong with her draw controls, either winning the ball to herself or placing it for a teammate to catch. Ellie Harrison '22 was also key in causing turnovers and picking up ground balls, helping Andover keep possession. PA’s control of ground balls, clocking in at a whopping 34, was very important for the team’s success in this game as Gov’s were tough competitors. At the end of the game, both teams were down a player (with a total 4 cards each), however, they showed great sportsmanship in this competitive game between athletes. Looking forward to next Friday’s game against Pingree at home!
