Andover wins team race with 3 champions and four other placers

The 11^th annual Phillips Academy Girls Wrestling tournament, held in the Snyder Center, was our largest tournament to date, featuring 121 wrestlers from 38 schools. (In 2023 we had 103 wrestlers; in 2024 we had 96 wrestlers). Our guest clinician this year was Erica Weibe, the 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist at 75 kg from Canada. We wrestled fifteen 8-person brackets and one round robin bracket. The Outstanding Wrestler awards went to Adriana DeGroat of Framingham High School and Tessa Master from Watertown High School. Phillips Academy won the team title with 159 points, 3 individual champions and four other placers. The second place team was Massabesic High School with 100 team points, 2 individual champions and three other placers. Daniella Nugent ’25 became the first wrestler to be a 4x champion at this tournament (’22, ’23, ’24, and ’25).
