Girls place 3rd and Boys 5th in pairs relay race

The Andover Nordic team raced in a pairs relay race at the Dublin School on Wednesday. The race consisted of two rounds with preliminary heats and finals. On the girls side, two Andover teams made it into the "A" final with Posie Millet and Claire de Saint Phalle finishing in 6th place and Kate Pfister and Nikita Muromcew finishing in 11th place. In the "B" final, Hannah Justicz and Christina Li finished in 13th place and Amelia Vinton paired up with a skier from Rivers to finish 18th. All told, the girls finished 3rd overall behind Holderness and Dublin and ahead of Proctor, St. Paul's, and NMH.

The boys side showcased one of the best races of the day as Eli Newell and Sam Gallaudet traded turns back and forth against a very strong Belmont Hill team. In the final leg, Newell held the lead he was handed and secured second place overall our of 41 pairs. Remy de Saint Phalle and Henry Hearle overcame an unfortunate equipment failure to Henry and got back into the top of the boys "B" final, finishing 29th. Tyler Yung and Sam Capobianco, Nico von Eckartsburg and Samson Zhang, and Jeremy Zhou and Harry Whitman also performed well for Andover in the B final.

Next up is a 5k classic race at Holderness where Andover hopes to build on its successful start this season.
