Andover falls 9-12 in a tough match
Today Andover faced the Loomis Chaffee School and the Hopkins School hosted at Loomis.
The first quarter against Hopkins went by very quickly with a first goal from Mathis Weber ‘20 and another from Sam Donchi ‘20. Andover water polo crushed the second quarter with two goals from Theo Faugeres ‘21, two from Donchi ‘20 and two more from Hunger ‘20. Andover’s ninth goal went to Weber ‘20 in the third quarter. Donchi ‘20 scores the first goal of the final quarter and is followed by Sean Meng ‘22 assisting Hunger ‘20 to one of his four goals this quarter. Faugeres ‘21 shoots another goal in this period as well. Hunger ‘20’s fourth goal was quite eventful as he was underwater and spun the goalie to shoot the final goal in the last few seconds. What a game! Andover took the win 15-8.
Against Loomis, the game started slowly with a few first hits from the opposing team. However, Andover fought back with two goals in the first quarter - one from Max Hunger ‘20 and another from Mathis Weber ‘20. The second quarter moved more swiftly with one goal from Sam Donchi ‘20 and two more from Hunger ‘20. The third quarter was followed by an assist from Brandon Garcia ‘20 to one of Hunger’20’s two more goals this quarter. Lastly, we ended with two more - one from Donchi ‘20 and Weber ‘20. After putting up a hard fight, Andover suffered a 9 - 12 loss.
