Double Header Victory for Andover
Today Sept. 28, Andover Water Polo faced both the Williston Northampton School and the Hotchkiss School hosted at Williston.
The first game against Williston went by very quickly as there were rarely any stops in any of the quarters. In the first quarter, Mathis Weber ‘20 shot the first goal along with Brandon Garcia ‘20 and another from Weber ‘20. The second quarter went at a similar pace with two goals from Theo Faugeres ‘21 and two from Sam Donchi ‘20. They were in a strong lead until Williston started catching up in the third quarter and we made no more until the fourth. They followed up with a final goal from Donchi ‘20 in the last quarter and secured a 9-8 W.
Against Hotchkiss, Andover started with a first penalty shot from Gregor Deveau ‘21. They followed up with a huge lead in the second quarter with two goals from Mathis Weber ‘20, one from Sam Donchi ‘20, one from Theo Faugeres ‘21, and a penalty shot from Donchi ‘20. We continued the strong gain against Hotchkiss with two more from Weber ‘20, two from Deveau ‘21, and another from Faugeres ‘21. The final goals of the last quarter went to Faugeres ‘21 and Weber ‘20. In the end, Andover was victorious with a 14-5 W.
