Great Sportsmanship Despite Tough Game vs. Brunswick
September 7th 2019, Andover faced off against the top team in the New England League, Brunswick Academy. Although playing against such a talented team was daunting, Andover water polo showcased their amazing teamwork abilities. The game started slowly, with Brunswick gaining on Andover through the second quarter. In the third quarter Sam Donchi ‘20 swiftly made the first goal with an assist from Brandon Garcia ‘20. Throughout the game, Max Hunger ‘20 contributed by scoring a goal as well as blocking attempts and assisting. Later, Mathis Weber ‘20 scored from the right wing and Theo Faugeres ‘21 took a strong shot from 8 meters, scoring the fourth goal. While the game resulted in a loss 4-19, it served as a testament to the team’s excellent communication and hard work, especially because every player on the team had game time in the pool. Brunswick has previously beaten Exeter’s Varsity team 18-0.
