Exciting Finish to the Season (5-0-2)

Today’s match was the final game for the JV3 soccer team, but the friendships and fun will last long after the final whistle. The team has worked hard and worked together to craft impressive skills and learn to play together over the course of the short season. The Big Blue took to the field today against The Cambridge School of Weston and battled to a 1-1 tie. CSW scored first, and Andover was down 1-0 for most of the game. Andover had a chance to tie with a penalty kick early in the second half, but Daniel Matloff’s attempt hit the post and bounced away. The fans came to their feet with just minutes left, as for the second game in a row, Dom Pieroni struck a free kick into the box and a deflection off a CSW defender sent the ball past the keeper to tie the game at one all. The tense final minutes closed out the game and the season. Many thanks to all the fans in attendance and for the goodies supplied for after the game. Here’s to playing the game, playing it well, playing with passion and heart, and to supporting one another on and off the field.
