Andover Wins Finale to Finish Undefeated
With a soggy field and rain throughout the majority of the game, Andover and Deerfield faced off in the season finale. With both teams adjusting to the conditions it took some time for the action to heat up. An Andover counter-attack pressered the Deerfield defense and forced a foul in the box. The ensuing penalty kick was perhaps the seasons climax, with the shooter and keeper staring each other down. A low shot barely beat the goalie's dive, and Andover took a 1-0 lead. In the second half, another goal came for Andover off an excellent pass and finish. Late in the second however, Deerfield forced a corner, and was able to score off a header. While they continued to press the attack, Andover was able to hold on for the 2-1 win and complete their undefeated season.
