Phillips Academy Track & Field kicked off the Indoor season on Wednesday 12/18 with wins over Governor's Academy and Landmark. On the Boys side, Andover scored 62 points over Governor's 55 and Landmark's 5. On the Girls side, Andover scored 78 points over Governor's 42.

The meet saw a number of very impressive performances from PATF athletes:

  • Caitlin Ly '27 and Julie Chan '27 both broke 7.50 in the 55m dash, and in total PATF put 6 girls under 8.0
  • Russell Robinson '25, Malcolm Tolbert '26, and Tyler Baty '27 all broke 7.0 in the 55m dash.
  • Ela Budzinski '28, Caitlin Ly '27, Michelle Onyeka '27, and Jenna Robertson-Palmer '27 combined to break the Snyder Center record in the 4x200m dash with a time of 1:48.99.
  • In the field, Gracie Aziabor '27 set a big new personal Indoor shot put record with a throw of 33'5", while Russell Robinson '25 and Kai Szanton '26 are edging toward breaking 19' in the long jump with jumps of 18'11.75" and 18'10.25" respectively--particular impressive for Szanton's first ever time competing in the event. Similarly, Michelle Onyeka '27 and Isabell Luo '25 both nearly crested 17' in the long jump with marks of 16'11.5" and 16'9" respectively.
  • Andover athletes who took wins in their individual events included Sean Pao '26 (55m hurdles), Caitlin Ly '27 (55m), Tayla Stempson '27 (mile), Emma Hagstrom '25 (2-mile), Arashi Hunter '25 (2-mile), Lauren Herlihy '25 (600m), Gracie Aziabor '26 (shot put), Sean Kim '27 (1k), Russell Robinson '25 (long jump), Michelle Onyeka '27 (long jump), and Xavier Moran '27 (pole vault).

PATF was also excited to cheer on dozens of team members who were competing in their first ever track and field meet.

The team will next compete on Sunday 1/19 in the Greater Boston Track Club invitational hosted at Harvard University, and after that the full team will compete on Wednesday 1/22 in our second home meet of the season.
