The Varsity Football team opened up the 2026 season with a thrilling 28-23 home win over Hotchkiss School in front of a spirited crowd. Leading the way was Ubie Zaid ‘27 with two touchdowns.
Girls' Varsity Volleyball went 3-0 this week, with a win away at Thayer (3-0) on Wednesday and two wins on Saturday: 3-0 vs. Hotchkiss and 3-1 over Taft.
Shout-out to Boys’ Varsity Soccer, who extended their undefeated streak to three games with a 3-0 win over visiting Belmont Hill. Goalkeeper Adam Sealfon ‘29 earned his third consecutive clean sheet. BVS is coached by Joe Donnelly, Chris Ishizuka-Wade and Eric Denby and captained by seniors Kai Myles, Edrian Vargas and Jaeden Morgan.
Boys’ Varsity Water Polo, captained by Victor Hillier and Hugo Appen, traveled to Loomis for games versus the host school and Hopkins - and brought home two wins on the day! Captain Hillier led the way in goals and assists. Howie Kalter coaches water polo, with newly appointed assistant coach Yolanda Van Doornik.

On Saturday afternoon, Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country opened their season at the Manchester Invitational, one of New England's best cross country invitationals.
Starting the day with the girls' freshman 2-mile race, Molly Nara ('30) led the way, completing the course in 13:02 and taking 14th place. Following Molly were ninth graders Eleanor McBride ('30), Myra Zheng ('30), Alex Burger ('30), Jessica Hong ('30), Emilia Petrokas ('30) and Emily Ke ('30). Our Freshman team finished 3rd place out of 13 teams.
In the JV "C" race, four runners competed hard over the 2-mile course: Eveline Chung ('29), Mari Uchino- Garcia ('29), Kareen Kapoor ('29), and Nandini Sharma ('29).
The JV "B" race featured a huge 1st place win from Anya Casey ('27) and helped the team to their 4th place finish. So too were amazing performances by Claire Donovan ('29) in 8th place, Emma Hong ('28), Fatima Bah ('29), Kalista Kuemmerle ('28) and Claire Bancroft ('28).
In the final girls' race of the day, the GXC Varsity squared off against 23 teams in the Large School Varsity race. Sophie Stetson ('29) and Maddie Marshall ('29) led the way for Andover with promising early-season running. Hannah Jung ('28) and Maeve Burns ('30) were next in for GXC with an outstanding season debut race! Allyssa Katana ('27) finished next, showing off her consistent summer work by crushing her 5k personal record by over 2.5 minutes! Rounding out our top 7 were strong performances by Sophia Schneeweiss ('29) and Michelle Oh ('29).
On the boys' side, BXC raced 38 runners, 23 of whom were racing for the first time with PAXC.
BXC started the day off with an individual win from EJ Montero ('30) in the freshman race, followed by Gabriel Arroyo Cisneros ('30) in 5th place. The 9th grade boys also took home the team win.
Cameron Butler ('28), Lincoln Strandberg ('30), and Devin Akyali ('29) led the way for the varsity squad, which placed 15th out of 29 schools.
BXC's JV squad had an excellent outing as well, taking 9th out of 40 teams. They were led by Kalis McCoy ('29) and Benedict Dwyer ('28), who finished within one second of each other.

GirShout-out to Girls’ Varsity AND JV Girls’ Soccer, who each opened their seasons with shutout wins on the road. On Wednesday afternoon, the JV1 won their first game of the season in dominant fashion over Lawrence Academy, 7-0. Melina Binieris '30 led the scoring with a hat trick while Veronica Lewis '27 kept a clean sheet in goal. Also contributing to the scoring were Naia Kearins '30, Mila Rowe '29, Ashley Zhu '29, and Cat Smith '27, who tallied her first career goal for the team. JV girls’ soccer is coached by Troy Turick & Lakshmi Jai.
GVS hit the road to the Rivers School on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and brought home a 3-0 victory behind three different goal scorers: Lily Zacher '30, Ashley Dimnaku '28, and Isabel Park '28.
First-year player Lily earned Player of the Game. Adele Russell ‘27 earned the shutout with three saves. GVS is coached by Lisa Joel and Noureddine El-Alam and captained by Lily Loughlean, Adele Russell and Keaghan Murphy.
