Standing out amongst the 40 personal bests for indoor track and field on Wednesday afternoon were THREE record-setting performances!
Amelia Alvazzi ‘26 (pictured) shattered the Snyder Indoor Mile record with a time of 5:01.28 on Wednesday afternoon. Eden Dunleavy ‘29 set a school record in the 300m while the relay team of Lauren Signorelli ‘27, Amelia Alvazzi ‘26, Mura Daisley ‘26 and Ela Budzinski broke the Snyder and school records if the 4X400 (4:03.70). Shout out to former track and field coach Lisa Joseph who returned Snyder to lead the team in a recovery workout as well as Jamal English who showed up in support of our pole vaulters!
Girls’ and Boys’ Indoor Track are undefeated as we turn to the second half of the season.
Also boasting a flawless record to date - girls’ and boys’ swimming and diving coached by David Fox, David Gardner, Hillary Kavanagh, Elliot Chapman, Catherine Carter, Maya Darville, and Belinda Wolf- remains undefeated at 11-0.
Shout out to JV girls’ hoops, coached by Anny Candelario and Jessica Hoffman, who battled to their first season win on Wednesday afternoon, 28-27 over Austin Prep. Boys’ varsity squash, coached by John Roberts, went an impressive 16-0 versus Belmont Hill, Westminster, and Choate on Saturday afternoon. Girls’ Varsity Hockey went 3-0 on the week, including back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday of Long
Weekend. Ninth grader Liz Averill was named Player of the Game on Friday versus BB&N, and captain Keira Bruen ‘26 was named Player of the Game on Saturday versus Deerfield. GVHockey notched 16 goals this week alone while conceding only three. Boys’ varsity hockey, coached by
Paul Tortella, Patrick Pothel, and Tedd Parker, and captained by Louis- Felix Beaulieu, Alex Small, and David O’Neill, scored three goals in the final nineteen minutes of play on the road at Loomis on Saturday to come home with a 3-3 result. Captain Louis-Felix Beaulieu tallied the first goal for the Blue late in the third, followed by goals from Alex Theodore, and then, with 34-seconds remaining, Jack O'Dell tied the game!
