Big Blue Shout Outs continued...
Still undefeated JV2 boys’ soccer, coached by Joe Maurais and Eric Denby, saw great performances by many players across their three games versus Andover High, Belmont Hill, and NMH. Shout out to Monday’s goal-scorers v. AHS, Elliot Zhou and Teo Choi. On Wednesday versus BelHill, both Big Blue goals were PKs scored by Javi Gomez-Amuedo. And finally, on the road versus NMH, Teo Choi had a goal, as did Ian Wang in the 2-2 result. Goal-keeper Alistair Fritz-Gruber has shined in net - including a huge shut-out on Monday!
Speaking of NMH...on Saturday, nine Big Blue teams traveled to Northfield Mount Hermon and returned to campus with 6 wins, 1 loss, and 2 ties on the day. Highlights from Andover-NMH day include:
JV girls’ soccer coached by Troy Turick and Rachel Conley and captained by Marcela Hernandez and Angie Lucia rallied after falling behind, 0-1, to earn a resounding 7-1 victory. Maddie Shin led all scoring with two goals and one tally each from Angie Lucia, Audrey Gotha, Cedar Halsey Leckerling, and Emma Morrison.
Shout out to girls’ varsity volleyball AND JV volleyball who both found their way to thrilling come-from-behind 3-2 wins.
Varsity Field Hockey continued their incredible team efforts, earning an 11-0 win versus the Hoggers.
Girls’ Varsity Soccer earned a 6-1 win behind two hat-trick (3 goals!) performances from captain Emily Mara ‘25 and Wylie Roossien ‘26. Lower goal-keeper Deli Russell earned her first GVS start AND her first win in net!
