Spring in Full Swing!

Andover Golf (pictured above) opened their season on Wednesday afternoon at Butter Brook Golf Course in Weston MA against Phillips Exeter and Belmont Hill. The teams opened the match with a moment of silence for golf captain Lucas Lee ‘25.

Bottomless gratitude and respect to our golf coaches, Brian Faulk, Tedd Parker, and Chris Odden for all they have done to support their team. Shout out to all those members of the golf team who showed up, supported each other, and played some fantastic golf too - finishing with a tie versus Belmont Hill and a win over Phillips Exeter.

Congratulations to Girls’ Water Polo (pictured inset), coached by Howie Kalter and Jill Meyer and captained by seniors Adz Morales and Ariana Zhao - opening the season with two HUGE wins on the road versus Deerfield Academy (16-10) and Greenwich Academy (14-4). These two wins tie the water polo program’s “most wins” record in a season in recent memory!

Numerous players contributed to the team's victory in their first-ever competitive water polo game. Ninth grader Djenabou Bah
scored her first-ever water polo goal - and the first goal of the 2025 season - just 20 seconds into the game. Across the day, Audrey Baeten-Ruffo ‘28 made four saves in goal - also a first-ever experience for Audrey. Also net-minding for the Big Blue was upper Sophia You who recorded 15 saves on the day. Other Andover goal scorers include Adz Morales, Camden Schopler, Addison Deng, and Sahana Manikandan. However, the story of the day was the TOTAL TEAM effort and incredible leadership...and of course, all-star coaches! GO BIG BLUE!

Varsity Softball (pictured below) pulled off a thrilling 7-6 win versus Tilton School on Friday night in extra innings. Catcher Gaby Potter ‘27 blasted a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 7th inning to knot the game at 6-6. Audrey Gotha ‘28 crossed the plate at the bottom of the 8th for the win.

Marek Krystofolski & Robert Brown are off to a strong 2-0 start to the season, scoring 18 runs and only giving up 2 in this week’s games.

What a week it has been for our varsity tennis teams who started their season facing some of their toughest opponents and competing so well with 2-0 starts. Girls’ Varsity Tennis, coached by Katy Lambson and captained by Amy Oku and Lena Ciganer-Albeniz, opened the season with an incredible win Wednesday at home over a talented Groton School team, 7-2. On Saturday, the team played on the indoor courts at Nobles with the final result coming down to matches that starred Evelyn Kung and Lara Madan. Both Evelyn and Lara won their matches - leading Andover to victory, 5-4!

Boys’ Varsity Tennis, coached by Leo Calleja and Winston Leong and captained by Chase Burke and Kevin Niu, hit the road to BB&N (7-0) and a LONG day at Taft School (7-0) on Saturday and brought home two huge wins!

JV Boys’ Volleyball coached by Sabrina Zurkhulen and Lorena Corbelli celebrated a great home-opening winning, 2-0 over visiting Northfield Mount Hermon!

JV Girls' Lacrosse, coached by Caroline Galligan and Kassie Bateman, stretched their record to 2-0 on a rainy and cold Saturday afternoon with a BIG win over Andover High School. Shout out to our 9th grade goalkeepers Cat Powers and Marie Lee on the SHUTOUT! Thank you, Kate Dolan, for your support!
