Julian Rios '26 won his 4th straight Class A title

Boys' Hockey - Congratulations to hockey captain David O’Neill ‘26 on competing in his 108th Andover varsity hockey game, making him the all-time leader in the program’s 128-year history! This week, David led the team to two thrilling OT ties versus Belmont Hill on Friday night and Dexter Southfield on Saturday evening. Goaltender Edouard Lord '26 currently leads the entire league in minutes played and saves.

Indoor Track - The Senior pole vaulter, Hailey Piasecki, set a personal best on Saturday afternoon, clearing an impressive 10 feet!

Girls’ Hockey has extended its win streak to 12-consecutive games with two big wins on the week, including an OT victory at Tabor on Wednesday. Maggie Averill ‘27 scored the game winner with teammates Lily McInerney ‘26 and Vanessa Hall ‘28 notching two goals in regulation time. Lower Marie Lee picked up the win in net with 20 saves.

Wrestling - On Friday afternoon at Hyde School, sixteen wrestlers entered the all-gender division of the Class A league championships. Andover had two champions and thirteen other placers to finish in 2nd place as a team. Serra Akyali ’28 became the first girl in Andover wrestling history to win a Class A title in the co-ed division. Julian Rios ’26 (pictured inset) also made Andover wrestling history, becoming the first Andover wrestler to win four Class A titles. Andover also had 3 silver medalists: Devin Akyali ’29, Brady Haskell ’28, and Geza Labancz ’26. Third-place finishers were Caleb Beroukhim ’27, James Bae ’26, and Sean Flynn ’27. Fourth-place finishers were Reese York and Shock Ingram. Fifth place finishers: Narek Hambardzumyan, Andretti Candelario ’28, and Nick Marini ’28. Finally, co-president finalist David Siahaan ’27 finished sixth in his weight class. In the girls’ division, our very own Team Abbot also came in 2nd place as a team, with four individual champions: Cindy Zhou, Lisa de Boer ’26, Bella Shmuylovich ’26, and Toni Elliott ’27.

On Sunday afternoon, Andover hosted the 12th Annual Girls’ Wrestling tournament, which saw our very own team secure the team trophy and Bella Shmuylovich earn Outstanding Wrestler of the day. Thank you to our amazing coaches: head coach Kassie Bateman and assistant coaches: Jason York, Rich Gorham, and Joe Nugent, as well as our athletic trainers: Ashley Consolini, Hannah Alexander, and Zac Kershaw.
