Sports reporter, Kevin Walsh of NBC Boston recently made the trip to Andover for a story on first-year head wrestling coach, Kassie Archambault ’06 and the Big Blue wrestling program.

While the fact that Archambault may be the only female head coach of a high school program has been attracting attention, the story also highlights her extensive background in the sport, which began while a student at Andover.

Also interviewed in the piece are assistant coach, Rich Gorham ’86, whom Archambault assisted during his tenure as head coach, as well as co-captains, Marisol Nugent ’20 and Eamon Garity-Rokus ’20.

Returning in 2012 as an Andover faculty member, Archambault was the first female wrestling coach in New England prep school history and instrumental in organizing and hosting the first-ever all-girls’ prep school wrestling tournament. She is also an assistant coach for the girls’ varsity lacrosse program. In addition to teaching and coaching, she serves as a house counselor in a ninth grade girls’ dorm, Double Brick.

Story highlights Archambault's background in the sport, and Andover's coed program on NBC Sports Boston with Kevin Walsh.
