GVS brings home exciting 2-1 win on the road at Tabor
GVS traveled to Tabor Academy on Saturday night looking to extend the win-loss record of Andover-Tabor for the day - after varsity and JV field hockey and varsity and JV volleyball brought home Big Blue wins.
The team rose to the occasion of the Under the Lights match-up and played their best game to date. Midway through the first half, Soph Dandawa sent the perfect through-ball to captain Jazzy Cormier who gave the go-ahead go to the Blue. The first half was a back-and-forth battle with the back line of Ava Davey, Kendall Toth, Lily Keim, Keaghan Murphy, Emily Decker and GK Jill Reichenbach continually turning back a quick Tabor frontline.
Up 1-0 as the second half began, Tabor tied up the game on a PK. GVS doubled down on pushing forward and with four minutes left to play, Wylie Roossien sent in a fantastic corner kick that captain Emily Mara put way for the win. Shout out to our midfielders who remained focus and fierce in the back and forth, high paced game: Hayden Fischer, Hannah Surrette, Lola Aguirre, and Toth. Soph Dandawa's play off the bench in both the first and second half was tremendous and earned her Player of the Game.
Thanks to all the families who came to support - and for the delicious food at game's end! GVS extends its record to 3-2.
