Prep Showcase kicks off GVS2023 season
After the most unusual fall preseason across the region due to an excessive heat waves and then a stunning micro-burst in 01810, GVS found themselves on a full field for the first time at the annual Prep Showcase.
The 9 a.m. game matched GVS up with an ever-strong Class B competitor, Rivers School. Earning their first GVS minutes versus Rivers were newcomers Jill Reichenbach, Hannah Jordan, Hannah Surrette, and Keaghan Murphy as well as Ginny Marshall '25 and Murathime Daisley '26. GK Reichenbach '24 played a confident 40 minutes and earned the shutout and Player of the Match.
The noon game matched GVS up with 2022 Class B finalist Lawrence Academy. Andover got on the scoreboard first with a fantastic finish by sophomore Wylie Roossien who picked up the rebound from a great set play from center back Ava Davey '25. Wylie earned Player of the Match.
Thank you to Rivers School for hosting this great showcase event and to the parents and friends of GVS who came to cheer us on. We cannot wait for the season ahead and open this coming Wednesday at home on newly renovated Graves Field versus Groton School.
