Andover Girls Repeat as NEPSTA Division I Champions
The Andover girls' cross country team traveled to Taft to compete in the New England Prep School championship and, through strong team running, took the Varsity win in a very competitive field.
Leading the way for Andover, Amelia Alvazzi ('26) moved up throughout the race to take second overall with a great kick. Anya Budzinski ('26) and Sophie Stetson ('29) also secured top ten finishes, taking 7th and 9th, respectively, in two stellar performances. Corinne Spade ('27) had an outstanding day on the Taft course, finishing in 15th. Close behind, Maddie Marshall ('29) continued her phenomenal first year with another tough run. Alvazzi, Budzinski, Stetson, Spade, and Marshall earned all-New England honors for finishing in the top twenty. Hannah Jung ('28) and Anya Casey ('28) were Andover's sixth and seventh runners, both finishing inside the top 40 in an excellent field.
On the JV side, co-captain Zoe von Eckartsberg ('26) ran a brilliant front-of-the-pack race, taking the individual win in convincing fashion. Michelle Oh ('29) and co-captain Chloe Song ('26) worked well together across the grassy course to finish inside the top five overall. Claire Donovan ('29) continued her successful debut season with the team, finishing in tenth with a strong last mile. Evelyn Marshall ('28) rounded out Andover's scoring five in 17th, the fifth Andover runner in the top twenty. Andover JV girls took second place as a team.
