Andover Girls Race to Win Against Choate

The Phillips Academy girls' cross country team welcomed Choate Rosemary Hall to the Great Lawn for a race on an unseasonably warm Saturday.

Pacing the pack for Andover were Amelia Alvazzi ('26) and Anya Budzinski ('26), who took the top two spots in the race in convincing fashion. Next in, two ninth graders made their mark in their course debuts: Sophie Stetson ('29) and Maddie Marshall ('29) worked well together to take the 3rd and 4th spots, respectively. Finishing with a huge personal best time, Anya Casey ('28) raced to a strong finish to cap off her big day and take sixth overall. Upper Corrine Spade ('27) and senior co-captain Zoe von Eckartsberg ('26) also worked well in tandem to round out the top seven for PA. GXC wins, 16-47.

Next weekend (10/11), Phillips Academy cross country will travel to St. Paul's School for a multi-team meet on their excellent course.
