A dominant first set for PAVB, firing on all cylinders. The out-of-system defense was spectacular in converting a potentially lost point into a gain. Selene Xu switched in as setter for the conclusion and carried the same tempo through to the end. Ashley Shuman earned 7 service points, playing DS for OPP Hailey Piasecki.
The second set PAVB had to come from behind several times. Wendy Wang dug PAVB out if a 20-21 deficit with 4 consecutive service points for a 2-0 lead.
In the third set Sophie Holten-Moravek served PAVB to a 6-2 advantage, but we then again had to come from behind. At 10-13 Wendy Wang served 9 consecutive points to give us a comfortable enough margin to seal the match.
