PAGVT Defeats Exeter to go 6-0
PAGVT enjoyed hosting Exeter at home in a match featuring gritty play from all competitors.
Working without one of our starters (Kendra Tomala '26), Andover opened doubles play with a modified line-up. Nitya Madduri ('28) and Mira Phan ('27) gave PA their first point at 1 doubles, showcasing their dynamic combination of powerful groundstrokes setting up clean volleys. Shortly after, Evelyn Kung ('26) and Lara Madan ('27) earned a second win, their enthusiasm and coordination on full display. Everyone gathered to cheer on 2nd doubles partners Mercan Draman ('26) and Michelle Oh ('29) who were narrowly edged out by Exeter.
Singles play featured a number of very competitive matches. Nitya, Evelyn, and Mercan were the first to finish, and all three earned wins, clinching the victory for Andover. Lara (3rd singles) and Mira (5th singles) fought with grit and determination from the first to the last point. Michelle (2nd singles) and her opponent were closely matched and put on a show from start to end with their exciting rallies.
Today's victory not only put the team at 6-0 on the season, but also marked their 20th consecutive win!
PAGVT next hosts BB&N on Monday, April 27.
