PAGVT: 2026 NEPSGTA Champions!

The girls met on Sunday morning in Snyder Center to enjoy a team breakfast from Perfecto's together and prepare for NEPSAC Finals. With Athletic Training keeping an eye (and an instrument) to the heat index, the girls stepped into the sun and did what they do best, this time facing a strong Hotchkiss team.

Andover opened by continuing their dominant season of doubles play. The team's first victory came from our 3-doubles pair of Evelyn Kung ('26) and Lara Madan ('27), who are UNDEFEATED as a pair this season. They exemplified their styles of play, using formations, stellar communication, and smart shot placement to cruise to victory.

Andover 1 - Hotchkiss 0

1st doubles partners Kendra Tomala ('26) and Michelle Oh ('29), who are also UNDEFEATED as a pair this season, utilized big serves, powerful groundstrokes, and precisely-placed volleys to earn the team's second win.

Andover 2 - Hotchkiss 0

After a slow start, 2nd doubles partners Nitya Madduri ('28) and Mira Phan ('27), yet another UNDEFEATED pair this season, stuck with their opponents and used their characteristic pattern of big serves and poaches to earn a nail-biter of a win in a tiebreaker.

Andover 3 - Hotchkiss 0

The girls cooled off out of the sun and in the air-conditioning for a few minutes before commencing singles play: ready to give it their all!

Mira Phan ('27) battled through leg pain during doubles, and gave it her all in singles. Unfortunately, her movement was limited compared to when she's at 100%, and she dropped a tough-fought match at 6-singles.

Andover 3 - Hotchkiss 1

Very shortly after the conclusion of the 6-singles matches, the scores on the top 5 courts showed 4 matches within points of winning. Nitya Madduri ('28, first singles) was at 5-0 in the second set. Kendra Tomala ('26, second singles) was at 5-2 in the second set. Michelle Oh ('29, third singles) had won her first set and the score was at 1-2 in the second. Lara Madan ('27, fourth singles) was at 5-2 in the second set. Evelyn Kung ('26, fifth singles) was at 5-0 in the second set. It was off to the races, and ultimately Lara and Evelyn clinched the final 2 wins for Andover within moments of one another.

This win was truly a team effort, and every single one of the players gave it their all!

PAGVT would like to thank our amazing managers for all the work they did to help the team out this season, the Athletic Department for their support with logistics, planning, and travel, Paresky Commons for keeping us fueled throughout the day and on away travel days, OPP for always helping us get tables and chairs ready for home matches, and so many others.
