GVS battles to 3-1 win over Thayer Academy
Emma Morrison crossed a dangerous ball inside the 18 midway through the first half that Anne Dunn headed past the Thayer keeper for a 1-0 lead at the half. Midway through the second half of play , ninth grader Lily Zacher crossed a ball to Dunn who once again found the back of the net to stretch the lead to 2-0. Four minutes later, Thayer brought the game to within one goal. Elizabeth Wodarski's goal with five minutes left to play - assisted by Dunn (2 goals, 1 assist on the day!) - slammed the door shut on the game.
Wodarski's spark off the bench made an enormous difference and earned her Player of the Match!
