GVS drops first game of the season to Class A power Loomis
While GVS found their way to the scoreboard first mid-way through the first half after a strong opening 20 minutes, Loomis responded with four goals in the final twenty to keep the game out of reach.
Wylie Roossien '25 started it off for the Big Blue taking on a Loomis defender one v one, slotting the ball past a fantastic decoy run by Emily Mara and the ball put away by Hayden Fischer '25 - Fischer's first tally of the season! Mara closed the gap in the final minutes of the first half with a gutsy one v one play inside the box.
Andover took to the field in the second half focused on playing with composure and possession. Shout out to Sophie Dandawa '25 notched her first goal of the season late in the second half.
Player of the Game was captain Emily Mara '25. GVS prepares to hit the road in the week ahead against two top tier opponents in Worcester Academy and next Saturday at Tabor for "Under the Lights." match-up.
