On the road again, GVS comes from behind to earn 2-1 victory over St. Paul's

GVS traveled to Concord, NH for St. Paul's Family Weekend and came home with a hard-fought 2-1 win after falling behind early in the first half of play.

St. Paul's struck first earning a PK and put GVS in a position to chase after the game from behind. Relentless in that pursuit, GVS continued to attack knotting the game at 1-1 as upper Karoline Conte got on the other end of a PA corner kick.

The Big Blue dug in for the final forty minutes of the game and their persistence paid off. Attacking with numbers, Nicola Sommers found upper Isobel class who tucked the ball in to put the game at 2-1.

St. Paul's continued to push offensively but the GVS defense once again held their opponents at bay. Senior center back Mack Lucas earned Player of the Game. Strong play came from Mary Stuart Kerrigan, Myra Bhathena and Karoline Conte. A special shout out to upper Katherine Marquis who celebrated her birthday with her teammates - and a thank you to her parents for delicious Panera after the game.

It was great fun to travel with PAVB and our super-fan Sports Information Director David Fricke. It was also great to see former GVS assistant Coach Bill Scott cheering us on from the sidelines. One more game on the road this Wednesday versus GVS and then the Big Blue return home to Graves for Family Weekend versus NMH.
