Andover wins home opener against Loomis
On a beautiful fall afternoon, Andover girls JV2 earned a 3-0 win over Loomis at home. Much of this game was played in the middle of the field as both defenses showed poise and cleared away the ball quickly. Andover opened the scoring 20 minutes in with Lara Kim '29 squeaking the ball past the goalie from up close on an assist from Liya Mombaur '29. In the second half, Mombaur got a goal of her own on a beautiful pass from midfielder Ashley Zhu '29. A few minutes later, Zhu scored the 3rd Andover goal a few minutes later when a ball was cleared just outside of the box and she shot a rocket from outside. The defensive line of Elinna Etuk '29, Ava Robinson '29, co-captain Daphne Malle '28, and Sammy Donovan '28 was busy all day, but proved to be up for the challenge. Mel Mariana G. de Souza '28 played goal and handled all of the shots that came her way.
