Andover competes at 2nd annual Beast of the Girls Girls Division

Four wrestlers competed in the 2nd annual Girls Division at the Beast of the East tournament in Newark, DE: Suhaila Cotton ’24 (110); Sakina Cotton ’24 (115); Eva Murphy ’25 (120), and Dani Nugent ’25 (145). Dani Nugent’ 25 led the way. In the pool round, she pinned her opponent from Lakewood NJ in 1:59; she pinned her CARO opponent in 23 seconds; and she pinned her Musselman opponent in 35 seconds, winning her pool and advancing to the championship bracket. In the semifinals she fell to her BRDI opponent, but she rallied in the 3rd place match and defeated her Boon opponent 7-0.

At 110 lbs, Suhaila Cotton ’24 pinned her Lakewood opponent in 2:05, and defeated her MOVI opponent 6-4 to advance to the championship bracket. In the semifinals she fell to her Musselman opponent 7-3 and took 4th place.

At 115 lbs, Sakina Cotton ’24 lost to her Movi opponent 10-0 in the pool round, and ended up in the consolation bracket. She lost 5-2 to her MILF opponent, but rallied and defeated her CROF opponent 10-1 to place 7th.

At 120 lbs, Eva Murphy ’25 defeated her STG opponent 2-0, but lost to her ORCO opponent 8-0, and advanced to the consolation bracket. She defeated her QAC opponent 4-3, but lost to her WECR opponent 3-0 and took 6th place.
