Andover ends season 14-3

Andover improved its dual meet record to 14-3 in its last home meet of the season against Exeter. Andover won 10 out of the 14 bouts in the all gender varsity dual. At 106 Serra Akyali ’28 opened the dual with a forfeit. At 120 Devin Akyali ’29 won by technical fall 15-0. Julian Rios ’26, Brady Haskell ’28, and Narek Hambardzumyan ’26 followed up with three pins to give Andover the lead 29-6. At 144 Reese York ’26 won a major decision 12-4. At 157 James Bae ’26 won by pin, and at 165 Andretti Candelario ’28 won 4-1 in overtime. At 190 Konnor Fortini ’28 won by pin, and at 285 Geza Labancz ’26 won by pin, sealing the win 54-24 for Big Blue.

Next was the girls’ varsity dual, which Team Abbot won 54-12. Several wrestlers won by forfeit. At 120 Gauri Bhakta ’28 won by pin; at 132 Ophelia Lee ’26 won by pin; at 138 Tasha Bohorad ’26 won by pin; and at 235 Toni Elliott ’27 won by pin.

We had 10 exhibition matches after the duals, and Andover won 7 of the 10 matches. Declan Paraguya ’29 won by pin; David Siahaan ’27 won by pin; Willy Park ’26 won by pin; Juris Vitols Anzola ’27 won by pin; Kierra Ong ’29 won 7-1; Reina Hisada ’28 won by pin; Alyssa Schoonmaker ’26 won by pin.
