Gavenas ('25) Sets Course Record and BXC Takes Third at Black Bear

BXC traveled to Coe-Brown Northwood Academy in Northwood, NH on Saturday to take part in the Black Bear Invitational, and for their efforts, they came away with a third-place Varsity finish and second-place JV finish.

Big Blue was paced once again by Tam Gavenas ('25), who ran an incredible solo performance to set the course record. Arun Kapoor ('25), making his season debut, was the second Andover finisher, followed closely by Robert Budzinski ('26), both finishing inside the top 15. The next BXC pack consisted of Luke Francis ('25), Henry Zimmerman ('27), and Magnus Julin ('25), who worked together throughout the beautiful, classic Coe-Brown cross country course. The Varsity boys took third as a team.

On the JV side, Nathan Neu ('26) led the Andover group with a fourth-place finish, and he was joined in the top ten by teammates Elliot Weir ('26), Sean Kim ('26), and Adrian Werner ('25). First-year Cameron Butler ('28) rounded out the BXC top five in a strong 5K season debut. JV boys took second as a team.
