Gunga vs Seawolves
Andover, MA - On a cold day at Smoyer Stadium, the Big Blue greeted Tabor Academy. The first 30 minutes of the match were filled with back-and-forth action from both teams. The visitors nearly opened the score, but, to our luck, the header went over the crossbar. After the early warning, Big Blue understood that it would take a whole team effort to defeat a well-organized Tabor team, and that is precisely what took place. On the day, the Big Blue were led by Garrett Holman '24 and Tegan Doll '23, who played a solid and clean game. It was also via Garret Holman, who we would go up on the score. Garrett received an incredible service from Zane Matraji '24 to drill a header past the visiting goalkeeper. After the first goal, the momentum kicked in Rafiq Kasumov '25 came into the game to make the most of it as he quickly scored two beautiful goals, one from an assist from Giovanni Pagliuca '23 and the other from a feed from Ellis Denby '24. Zane nearly got his goal on the day, but the GK made an excellent save; lucky for us, Paul Gichana '25 was on his toes and punch in the loose ball to make it five-nil. On the day, all team members played, and it was great to see some of our injured players return to action.
Next, our friend and eternal rival, Exeter. Hope to see you there.
