Big Blue vs. Big Green
The Big Blue traveled to Deerfield, MA to take on the Big Green. The Big Blue got a great start, taking a commanding three-nil lead before the half. The first goal of the day came from a combination play between Kai Myles '27 and Ellis Denby '24. Kai collected the ball outside the 18-yard box, turned, and lobbed a beautiful pass to Ellis Denby, who made a run past the defender and finished the play with a stunning volley to make it one-nil. Ellis was also involved in the second goal when he played in Zane Matraji '24, who turned his defender inside the 18-yard box to drill a shot to the opposite top corner. Denby collected the ball after a scramble inside the 18 and added his second goal of the day to take the Big Blue to a comfortable lead at halftime.
In the second half, Big Blue started flat, and the home team took advantage of their lack of composure to put two beautiful goals in the back of the net, reducing the lead to just one. The game became hectic as the home team kept pressuring the Big Blue. Fortunately, Ellis Denby was on his game and added his third goal of the day on a solo effort, taking a shot from outside of the 18 to beat the home keeper, making the final score 4-2. The Big Blue learned a valuable lesson on the day that they needed to play for the full 90 minutes, not just the first half. Thanks to all those who came out to support them. Onward and upward!
