Andover took another long bus ride to Connecticut to face a strong Choate team. Andover opened the score 1-0 from an amazing goal by Kai Myles. Choate equalized on a penalty kick. “Most fans would have liked to see the VAR on that one”- coach Donnelly. Both teams were deadlocked at the end of the first half.
“Both teams had opportunities in the second half - “if it wasn’t for Jack (Alexander) we could have easily conceded- he has kept us in matches. I thought for sure Smadge (Senior captain Spencer Madge) was going to get the match winner” - coach Donnelly. The Choate goalie made a kick save to deflect Madge’s shot just over the crossbar. Ultimately Andover was held to a final 1-1 scoreline.
Andover begins a three game home stretch next week seeing St Sebastian's on Monday.
