Gunga vs. Belmont Hill Sextants

Belmont, MA - BVS hit the road on a rainy day to face Belmont Hill, who had a strong start to the season. The home team applied pressure on the Big Blue from the beginning, making it challenging for the Big Blue to find a rhythm. However, after the 20th minute of play, Big Blue began to collaborate better as a team in different parts of the pitch, leading to our zenith of success. The scoring for the Big Blue started with Spencer Madge '25 playing Alex Coman '24 for an overlapping run, Coman would finish his run with a powerful cross that was punched in by senior captain Zane Matraji '24. Matraji would find great success on the pitch on the day but this time his contribution was for an assist to Kai Myles '27 who finished a well-placed cross from Matraji to make it 2-0. Ellis Denby '24 would get on the scoresheet score via a PK after Matraji was taken down by the Sextant's goalkeeper. The fourth goal was a GOLAZO from Julian Gravereaux '24 who drilled home a corner kick delivered by none other than Zane Matraji. Ellis Denby had an incredible game and added the fifth, Elijah Robinson '25 was on his toes to capitalize on a goalkeeper miscue to make it six. To wrap things up, Louis-Thomas Vincent '25 would make it 7 after firing a shot that the keeper could not hold on to from well outside the 18-yard box. Garrett Holman '24, Julian Gravereaux '24, Sebastian Mejia-Rivera '25, and Alex Coman '24 were all exceptional defensively. In Goal, both Jack Alexander '25 and Tristan Marnoto '24 were also impressive. Overall, it was a great team win for the Big Blue. Up next, Milton.
